About Us
The Parochial Kickers Co-ed Soccer League is open to all parochial/religious/private schools in Erie & Niagara counties. The league in 2005 had over
2200 players on 132 teams from Lancaster to Lewiston. The league is open to students from first through eighth grades. Teams are grouped into 4
divisions: Mites (1st & 2nd Grades), PeeWee (3rd & 4th Grades), Jr Varsity (5th & 6th Grades), Varsity (7th & 8th Grades). The league
is designed as an instructional and developmental program for players from the novice to the travel level. Generally, the league plays on Sundays afternoons,
Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The season starts the last Sunday in April and concludes on the first Sunday in June.
Coaching Responsibilities
League representatives conduct themselves in a Christ like manner with the best interest of children as our primary goal at all times. We will teach the children values
of personal effort, teamwork, cooperation and to be gracious winners or losers at all times. When the school designates a coach and he or she accepts the
position, the coach accepts certain responsibilities. The league does not presume to tell a coach how to run his or her team. However, the league does have
the duty to inform the coach of his or her responsibilities all of which are for the good of the game and the children.
A coach should:
- Be familiar with the FIFA Rules of the Game Guide for Referees United States Soccer Federation
- Be sure that all players are properly registered with the league
- Attend league meetings or have an alternate attend. Decisions are made at these meetings which affect us all
- Be familiar with playing schedule and be sure it is followed
- Curtail rough play and promote sportsmanship and good will
- Insist that your players refrain from arguing with the referee
- Not tolerate profane language from players, parents or fans
- Not tolerate abuse of the referee or opposing players by your players or supporters
- Direct any question of player eligibility, field condition, etc. to the referee prior to the game
